FLOURISH
“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.“ Isaiah 58:11 NIV
When I see a garden filled with flourishing plants, trees, flowers, vegetables and fruit, I imagine the desolate field with soil waiting to be tilled, filled and watered. I reflect on the process and the progress.
Curious Leah wonders next, who decided to till this land? What did they look past? What did they overcome? Oftentimes we miss groundbreaking opportunities because we can’t see the incomplete— complete.
How many times have you questioned, if anyone recognized your soil; As a place to plant, invest, till? Would you describe yourself as a flourishing and fruitful place?
Let’s examine our soil…
What relationship(s) in your life fertilize you? Who do you allow to go beyond the surface?
Good fruit represents the seed and the soil.
Today I challenge us to explore what’s beneath the surface of our expectation and experience.
The prerequisites for being a well-watered garden are revealed in Isaiah 58:9-12
Will you do the work and excavate the ground of your heart?
Trust me…Knowing you helps you share you.
You’re the seed that has to be buried. Fruit is the manifestation of what’s been planted.
